Job description
As a Senior Project Manager you will play a key role within the Region 2 (Worldwide excluding France, Belgium, and the Americas) Project Department of our Services organization, overseeing the management of complex projects, retrofit and supply of new alternator equipment, turbines, auxiliary and control systems as well as the control systems scope of new power plants. You will drive the successful execution of projects or a portfolio of projects in order to guarantee the objectives in terms of safety, quality, timing and financial outcomes. Projects may involve customer contracts, part of a contract, internal company developments. Customers can be internal or external.
Location: Rugby, Loughborough
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a project or portfolio of projects with significant organizational impact. Develop and implement action plans specific to the project scope based on the strategy set by you or the Project Director.
- Thoroughly understand the contract with the client, ensuring rights and obligations of each party are clearly identified and enforced. Anticipate actions to protect company interests in coordination with the functions (e.g. contract management, engineering, etc.)
- Apply and ensure compliance with Arabelle Solutions processes and project-specific guidelines.
- Lead the project team in collaboration with functional departments and the Project Director. Ensure all team members understand their roles, responsibilities, and that interfaces are defined.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, providing support and sharing ideas with the project team.
- Establish and track SQDC performance indicators (Safety, Quality, Time, Costs) within the project scope.
- Identify resource and expertise needs, coordinate with the Project Manager for additional support when necessary.
- Execute the claim strategy (with the support of the functions) as defined by the project.
- Participate in negotiations with major suppliers and customers as required.
- Prepare project reviews within the scope of your responsibilities.
- Immediately identify any quality deviations and involves the functions necessary for the implementation of a plan of corrective & preventive actions.
- Identify and anticipate risks related to delivery, quality or costs, and implement the necessary actions to limit them.
Profile
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience in managing complex, international, multidisciplinary projects, ideally within the energy sector.
- Fluent in English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and SAP.
Desired Skills:
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities.
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of the nuclear industry is advantageous.
